A virtual two-day workshop has been conducted between the Nordic countries on how to reduce CO2 emissions from defence activities.
Subject matter experts from Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland shared their best practices and formulated new ideas which could be implemented. The work was carried out within five focus areas: Army, Navy, Air Force, Strategic Transportation and Military Camps. The workshop was supported by key note speakers from NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence in Vilnius and from the Canadian Armed Forces. Work on the reduction of CO2 emissions is a political priority and target of the Danish NORDEFCO Chairmanship in 2020.
