COPA ARMA aim is to achieve financial, technical and/or industrial benefits for all the member countries within the field of acquisition and life cycle support. This will be achieved through transparent and mutual exchange of information on planned national procurement in order to identify and exploit possibilities for common development programs, procurement and maintenance of existing and emerging capabilities.
COPA ARMA is mandated to initiate, administrate and close down Working Groups in any area that is deemed beneficial for Nordic armaments cooperation. Working Groups come into existence either through the annual screening of all the nations’ procurement plans, or through an ad hoc request to cooperate on a certain issue.
Currently 8 such Working Groups exist. These cover a whole range of cooperation areas, and are comprised of experts from all the Nordic nations’ line organizations, such as Defence Headquarters, Logistics organizations, Defence Ministries, Services, etc. Working Groups report to ARMA annually.

WG CEROS200
Participating nations are Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The WG facilitates information sharing on products, services and technical issues related to CEROS 200 weapon system with the intention of a more efficient and cost conscious use by the members.
WG Geospatial Support
Participating nations are Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The WG is tasked with information sharing and coordination the efforts of the Nordic nations in the area of geospatial support, including common procurement.
WG Environment and Hazardous Materials
Participating nations are Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The WG is tasked with information sharing and investigating possibilities for cooperation related to the environment and the use of hazardous materials in the Armed Forces.
WG METOC Support
Partcipating nations are Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The WG is tasked with increasing the quality and quantity of METOC products and METOC support to the Armed Forces in the Nordic nations.
WG NATO Codification
Participating nations are Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The WG is tasked with information sharing and coordinating the efforts of the Nordic nations relating to codification work.
WG Soldier Protection Equipment and Clothing
Participating nations are Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The WG is tasked with investigating possible common procurement of various items in the area.
WG Tactical Data Link
Participating nations are Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The WG is tasked with exchanging lessons learned and developing a common Nordic acquisition strategy in the Tactical Data Link arena.
WG UAS
Participating nations are Denmark, Finland, Norway (observer) and Sweden.
The WG is tasked with exchanging of information between participating nations in the field of UAS in order to find potential cooperation areas.
