Diving personnel from four of the Nordic countries are visiting Boden during the week to test different types of diving equipment."Within the framework of the Nordic cooperation agreement and Nordefco we now work together when procuring new equipment. International summit in Örebro on 15-16 November
On Tuesday 15 November and Wednesday 16 November, defence ministers and representatives of 13 countries - Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and the USA - are meeting in Örebro to discuss common security issues and increased cooperation on defence.

FINNISH - NORWEGIAN NASAMS II COOPERATION IN NORTHERN NORWAY
Two Finnish officers Major Tomi Tuomi and Lieutenant Tomi Jaakkola from Armoured Brigade participated in NASAMS II Anti-Aircraft Missile live fire exercise organized by Royal Norwegian Air Force. The live fire exercise was arranged at the Andøya Rocket Range in Northern Norway on June 2011.

Norwegian officers attending company commander course in Sweden
During the spring Captain Thomas Hagen and Lieutenant Kjell Gjertsen from the Armored Battalion and the Telemark battalion have participated in the six weeks company commander course at the Swedish Land Warfare Center in Skövde, Sweden.

Arctic Fighter Meet carried through successfully
The Arctic Flight Meet (AFM) Exercise of the Finnish and Swedish Air Forces conducted between May 9th and 13th reached its targets on a satisfactory level. The exercise was based in Rovaniemi, Finland.

The Nordic Chiefs of Defence met in Stockholm
On Wednesday March the 30th the Nordic Chiefs of Defence met in Stockholm.
The meeting was held within the NORDEFCO (Nordic Defence Cooperation) framework and this time, the chiefs of defence had a special focus on the development in Afghanistan, results from the joint Nordic C-IED (Counter-Improvised Explosives Device) Working Group and on other issues on the way ahead for the cooperation

The NORDEFCO Military Coordination Committee meeting, March 2, 2011
The NORDEFCO Military Coordination Committee (MCC) met on March 2 at Näsby Slott in Stockholm. The meeting was chaired by Rear Admiral Odd Werin and was the first MCC meeting conducted under the Swedish chairmanship.

NORDEFCO Military Level Annual Report 2010
Monday 28 February the Annual Report was handed over from the MCC to the PSC. In his foreword the MCC chair Rear Admiral Arne Røksund expresses that he is satisfied to see major steps forward in the Nordic defence cooperation. The Annual Report shows that NORDEFCO has been able to deliver tangible results even though 2010 has been a year of consolidation. Cooperation on Training & Exercises, Capability development and in Operations has resulted in reduced costs and enhanced quality and will continue to be focus areas.

Sweden assumes NORDEFCO chairmanship for 2011
In accordance with the rotating chairmanship principle, Sweden will chair the NORDEFCO for 2011, taking over after Norway. During the year, Sweden will continue to develop the cooperation and pay special interest to the cooperation in on-going operations, such as Afghanistan.
